چکیده

Abstract Objective to investigate the association of inflammatory biomarkers on locomotor pattern during obstacle avoidance with different levels complexity manipulated by characteristic (solid and fragile) in older adults. Method 17 adults (≥60 years old) were evaluated two moments: 1) Analysis crossing conditions fragile). The variables studied for trailing leading limbs were: speed, length, width duration stride, horizontal foot-obstacle distance, obstacle-foot vertical distance Maximum foot elevation. 2) Blood collection, analysis Interleukin 6 (IL6) C-Reactive Protein (CRP). Multiple linear regression was performed verify between (IL6 CRP) a significance level p≤0.05. Results showed that associated following variables: stride solid condition, maximum elevation (leading limb) fragile obstacle, 3) (trailing 4) 5) obstacle. only condition. Conclusion Inflammatory are adults, regardless fragility

The association between inflammatory markers and obesity-related factors in Tehranian adults: Tehran lipid and glucose study

Objective(s):Obesity considered being a low-grade inflammatory disease. The objective of this study was to examine the association between inflammatory markers (IM) including C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and homocystein (Hcy) and obesity[F1] -related factors (e.g. BMI, waist, hip) in adult participants of Tehran lipid and glucose study (TLGS). Materials and Methods: In thi...

Inflammatory and vascular markers and olfactory impairment in older adults.

BACKGROUND the incidence of olfactory impairment increases sharply in the eighth and ninth decades of life but the aetiology of age-related olfactory decline is not well understood. Inflammation and atherosclerosis are associated with many age-related conditions and atherosclerosis has been associated with olfactory decline in middle-aged adults. OBJECTIVE to determine if inflammatory markers...

Inflammatory markers and cardiovascular health in older adults.

In the past decade inflammatory markers have emerged as strong independent risk indicators for cardiovascular disease. Even though adults over the age of 65 experience a high proportion of such events, most epidemiologic data are from middle-aged populations. In this review we examine the role that inflammatory markers play in the prediction of incident cardiovascular disease specifically in ol...

Frailty and inflammatory markers in older adults with cancer

We examined the associations between frailty and inflammatory markers, in particular neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), in elderly cancer patients. We conducted cross-sectional analyses of data derived from the Carolina Seniors Registry (CSR), a database of geriatric assessments (GA) in older adults (≧65 years) with cancer. We included patients in the CSR who had a GA and complete blood count t...

Inflammatory markers and gait speed decline in older adults.

BACKGROUND Increased inflammatory activity and gait speed decline are common with aging, but the association between the two is not well established. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of inflammatory markers, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor alpha, on gait speed performance and decline in older adults. METHODS We conducted cross-sectional and longitudin...
